Vespertine and Iris Doux by Ida Meister at Cafleurebon

My word. Some perfumes leave you breathless, and it becomes immaterial what you may have thought your preferences were beforehand. So it is with the fragrant compositions of Eliam Puente of Puente Perfumes, who made his aromatic debut last year with the exquisite Medusa, one of my top 10 scents of 2022. How does one follow in those footsteps? You create two more swoony potions named Vespertine and Iris Doux.

Iris Doux review by Heathen Perfumes

Iris Doux by @puente_perfumes is the early spring in a bottle.

It is full of light, contemplative, mystical and brings the wearer one with the nature.

Iris Doux welcomes you in its ancient, evergreen woods.

    Vespertine review by @tales_of_scent

…this is one of my favorite tuberose fragrances I've put my nose in, up there with Fracas and Carnal Flower, but contrary to the mentioned fragrances which I don't consider a soliflor, Vespertine does what is basically an incredible challenge, it smells more like the flower then a fragrance so to say.

    Iris Doux review by @tales_of_scent

Iris Doux is one of those fragrances, that honestly, there's no way I can make it justice with words. Eliam did something a little different here, playing with the cold aspects of the Iris with the warm tones of tropical florals, mainly ylang and frangipani.

Ida Meister's top ten fragrances of 2022

Medusa is Eliam Puente’s first fragrance, and blissfully, there are more to come. I was thrilled when approached by this old friend embarking upon a new creative path. Medusa is one of the headiest, most voluptuous perfumes in recent memory, and worthy of a cherished vintage status, with its inclusion of the finest quality materials. It’s dizzingly envoûtant and erotic.

Medusa review by Ida Meister at Cafleurebon

Puente Perfumes Medusa is one of the headiest, most éblouissant scents: a potent elixir bathed in indolic waves of secretive blossoms, underscored by a plethora of vetiver racinettes, inky oakmoss and beguiling civet. The perfumer (much like myself) is besotted with exquisite raw materials and only employs the finest which come to hand. By necessity, these components are costly – but they take you on a journey which can’t be imitated and develop in a manner that makes your head swim. Medusa is so sensual that it must be smelt to be believed.

A Gardener, Two Flowers by Ana Y El Perfume

When something is good, it's good without any justifications, without additives. Medusa and Iris Doux are that good. And what is strange is that both come from a man whom is still experimenting with materials and compositions. He's on the right path. I like the way Eliam plays with the flowers' radiance, with their defying character, and animalic materials, using the latter as a complement rather than a contrast.

    Vespertine review by @_paurfum_

    Iris Doux review by @_paurfum_
